I have seen what a laugh can do.

It can transform almost unbearable tears

Westlife- i will love you Forever -

I'll be loving you forever,
Deep inside my heart you'll leave me never,
Even if you took my heart,
And tore it apart,
I would love you still, forever
You are the sun,
You are my light,
And you're the last thing on my mind,
Before I go to sleep at night,
You're always round,
When I'm in need,
When trouble's on my mind,
You put my soul at ease,

There is no one in this world,
Who can love me like you do,
That is the reason that I,
Wanna spend forever with you,

I'll be loving you forever,
Deep inside my heart you leave me never,
Even if you took my heart,
And tore it apart,
I would love you still, forever,

We've had our fun,
We've made mistakes,
But who'd have guessed along that road,
We'd learn to give and take,
It's so much more than I could have dreamed,
Cause you make loving you, so easy for me,

There is no one in this world,
Who can love me like you do,
That is the reason that I,
Wanna spend forever with you,

I'll be loving you forever,
Deep inside my heart you leave me never,
Even if you took my heart,
And tore it apart,
I would love you still, forever,

And girl I pray you leave me, never,

Cause this is the world, where lovers often go astray,
But if we love each other, we won't go that way,
So put your doubts aside,
Do what it takes to make it right,
I love you, forever, no-one can tear us apart,

I'll be loving you forever
Deep inside my heart you leave me never,
Even if you took my heart,
And tore it apart,
I would love you still, forever,
And I'll be loving you forever
Deep inside my heart you leave me never,
Even if you took my heart,
And tore it apart,
I would love you still, forever,
I'll be loving you forever,
Deep inside my heart you leave me never,
Even if you took my heart,
And tore it apart,
I would love you still, forever

Qi Qiao Jie (Chinese Valentine's Day) Celebrations. How Do Asians Celebrate This Romantic Day?

Qi Qiao Jie (Chinese Valentine's Day) Celebrations
How Do Asians Celebrate This Romantic Day?

Unfortunately, festivities surrounding Chinese Valentine's day have fallen off in recent years. In the past, Seven Sisters' Associations would put up colorful "shrines" made of paper, fresh fruit, and flowers as a tribute to Niu Lang and Zhi Nu.

Today, younger Chinese are often unfamiliar with the holiday, and more likely to celebrate Valentine's day on February 14th. Still, in some cities efforts are being made to bring back many of the traditional festivals - including Qi Qiao Jie - in order to attract tourists. For example, in Hong Kong young girls still display needlework, burn incense and make offerings to the night sky.

Chinese Valentine's Day ~ Qi Qiao Jie...~

Chinese Valentine's Day
There may not be chocolate or cards, but the Chinese have a day devoted to love.

Valentine's Day, the annual tribute to romantic love, is fast approaching. Florists, card shops, and chocolate vendors are all doing a raging business as lovers rush to purchase tokens of their affection.

The Chinese also have a day devoted to love. Qi Qiao Jie, or the seventh eve, is often referred to as Chinese Valentine's Day. While the annual gift giving commonly associated with St. Valentine's Day doesn't take place, there are several charming customs associated with this romantic day for lovers.

There are two legends surrounding the origins of Chinese Valentine's Day. Both involve the position of the stars on the seventh day of the seventh month in the Chinese lunar calendar (August 26th in the year 2009).

According to the first version (my favorite), the seven daughters of the Goddess of Heaven caught the eye of a Cowherd during one of their visits to earth. The daughters were bathing in a river and the Cowherd, Niu Lang, decided to have a bit of fun by running off with their clothing. It fell upon the prettiest daughter (who happened to be the seventh born), to ask him to return their clothes.

Of course, since Niu Lang had seen the daughter, Zhi Nu, naked, they had to be married. The couple lived happily for several years. Eventually however, the Goddess of Heaven became fed up with her daughter's absence, and ordered her to return to heaven. However, the mother took pity on the couple and allowed them to be reunited once a year. Legend has it that on the seventh night of the seventh moon, magpies form a bridge with their wings for Zhi Nu to cross to meet her husband.

In the second story, Niu Lang and Zhi Nu were fairies living on opposite sides of the Milky Way. Feeling sorry for the two lonely sprites, the Jade Emperor of Heaven actively tried to bring them together. Unfortunately, he succeeded too well - Niu Lang and Zhi Nu became so enraptured with each other that they neglected their work. Annoyed, the Jade Emperor decreed that from that point on, the couple could only meet once a year - on the seventh night of the seventh moon.

Today, star gazers celebrate Qi Qiao Jie by gazing up at the star Vega, east of the Milky Way which represents Zhi Nu, and at the constellation Aquila, on the west side of the Milky Way, where Niu Lang waits for his lover to join him.

Other common names for the festival are the Seven Sisters Festival or the Festival of the Double Sevens.

Qi Qiao Jie (乞巧节, The Festival to Plead for Skills)

Qi Qiao Jie
Qi Qiao Jie (乞巧节, The Festival to Plead for Skills), sometimes called Chinese Valentine's Day, falls on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month of the Chinese calendar and thus is also known as Double Seven Day. It is traditional for young girls to demonstrate their domestic arts on this day (especially melon carving) and to make wishes for a good husband. Additional names include:

* The Night of Sevens (七夕)
* Seventh Sister's Birthday (七姐誕 qi1 jie3 dan4)
* The Night of Skills (巧夕 qiao3 xi4)

Japan also celebrates this festival as the Tanabata festival, celebrating the meeting of Orihime (Vega) and Hikoboshi (Altair). (See )

The story of Cowherd and Weaver Girl

On Qi Qiao Jie eve in late summer the stars Altair and Vega are high in the night sky and the Chinese tell the following love story, of which there are many variations:

A young cowherd named Niu Lang (牛郎, the star Altair) happens across seven fairy sisters bathing in a lake. Encouraged by his mischievous companion the ox, he steals their clothes and waits to see what will happen next. The fairy sisters elect the youngest and most beautiful sister Zhi Nü (織女, weaver girl, the star Vega) to retrieve their clothing. She does so, but since Niu Lang sees her naked she must agree to his request for marriage. She proves to be a wonderful wife, and Niu Lang a good husband, and they are very happy together. But the Goddess of Heaven (in some versions Zhi Nü's mother) finds out that a mere mortal has married one of the fairy girls and she's furious. Taking out her hairpin, the Goddess scratches a wide river in the sky to separate the two lovers forever (thus forming the Milky Way).

Zhi Nü must sit forever on one side of the river, sadly weaving on her loom, while Niu Lang watches her from afar and takes care of the two kids (his flanking stars Aquila -β and -γ).

But once a year all the magpies in the world take pity on them and fly up into heaven to form a bridge over the star Deneb in the constellation Cygnus so the lovers may be together for a single night, the seventh night of the seventh moon. This is the night of Qi Qiao Jie!

Variations to the story

* it is the Emperor of Heaven or her father who keeps the lovers separate and he does so in order that they focus on their work instead of romance (the work-ethic version)
* the star Deneb is a fairy who acts as a chaperone when the lovers meet on the magpie bridge (the G-rated version)

Traditions

On Qi Qiao Jie night, a festoon is placed in the yard and the single or newly married women in the household make an offering to Niu Lang and Zhi Nu consisting of fruit, flowers, tea, and facial powder. After finishing the offering, half of the facial powder is thrown on the roof and the other half divided among the young women. In this way the women are bound in beauty with Zhi Nu!

Other romantic days

Two other days have romantic associations in China: Valentine's Day on February 14th, borrowed from the west, and Lantern Festival Day on which an ummarried girl can appear in public unescorted and thus be seen by eligible bachelors.

How to Stay Happy and Positive Some Easy Tips

How to Stay Happy and Positive Some Easy Tips

Self-enhancement is the key to stay happy and positive. Here are some easy tips

* Take time to acknowledge personal accomplishments and celebrate success in a manner that can strengthen relationships. Keeping good social and personal relations are very effective means avoiding stress.
* Take good care of yourself. When you feel good, you also feel good and vice versa. Love yourself each day. Tell yourself ‘I love you’ and give yourself a hug everyday.
* Wear a smile everyday, compliment at least one person in the day, greet people, and take each day as the first day of the rest of your life. Do something new every day or as often as you can.
* Practice self-help methods, like writing journals, being passionate about work, taking on some hobbies, improving social life by meeting up with friends and relatives.
* Figure out your fun quotient of the day.
* Avoid procrastinations and perfectionism.
* Eat healthy and exercise regularly. For this, all one needs to do is wear one’s exercise shoes and step on one’s treadmill for a few minutes or even better, jog on beautiful beach side.
* Avoid addictions or any such risk-driven activity.

If there is a negative pattern in your life, opt for group or family counseling.

Here is some food for thought:

* Be assertive instead of being aggressive.
* Control anxiety by identifying one’s irrational thoughts and beliefs and rectifying them.
* Instead of cribbing, accept loss gracefully and move on with life.
* Replace low self-esteem with good-self image by always choosing to think positive, strengthening your talents and learning from your mistakes.
* Overcome ‘boredom’ with introduction of changes and passion in life.
* When feeling sad or low, you can have an attitude towards good thingsof life, and observing how you are better compared to some others who are not.

Psalm 1... Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly...~

Psalm 1 (King James Version)

Psalm 1

1Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

2But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

3And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

4The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

5Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalm 1 (New International Version)

Psalm 1

BOOK I : Psalms 1-41

1 Blessed is the man
who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked
or stand in the way of sinners
or sit in the seat of mockers.

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
and on his law he meditates day and night.

3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither.
Whatever he does prospers.

4 Not so the wicked!
They are like chaff
that the wind blows away.

5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.

For everything there is a season...~

For everything there is a season,

And a time for every matter under heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die;

A time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal;

A time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh;

A time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to throw away stones, and a time to gather stones together;

A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to seek, and a time to lose;

A time to keep, and a time to throw away;

A time to tear, and a time to sew;

A time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate,

A time for war, and a time for peace.

Psalm 23... The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want...~

Psalm 23 (King James Version)

Psalm 23

1The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

2He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalm 23 (New International Version)

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,

3 he restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness
for his name's sake.

4 Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death, [a]
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,

5 You prepare a table before me

6 Surely goodness and love will follow me

Psalm 23:4 Or through the darkest valley

~ ** ~ ~ ** Footprints ** ~ ~ ** ~

~ ~ Footprints ~ ~

One night a man had a dream. He dreamed he was walking along the beach with the Lord. Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.For each scene,he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand; one belonged to him, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of his life there was only one set of foot - prints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life, there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me."

The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Potpurri (Ambrose Hsu)
The wind, blowing over here without direction
The rain, also arising with these sorrows
Nobody can tell me, when is it that love
Noiselessly walked away?

The wind, accompanying the withering and blooming of flowers
The rain, carrying falling tears towards the sea
It is only now that I understand, you're clutching a purple dream
And choosing to wait

Memory is the scent of flowers, we agreed that we'd never forget
Sunlight defends against the darkness, feigning courage even in sadness
In those days of waiting, you were more courageous than I

Memory is the scent of flowers, never forget we walked together
Your tenderness is the sunlight, completely filling my future
Reminding me that the scent of flowers is always there, just like my love

Memory is the scent of flowers, never forget we walked together
Your tenderness is the sunlight, completely filling my future
That aroma of flowers on the wind, it's just like your love

A merry heart does good, like medicine,

Being cheerful keeps you healthy. It is slow death to be gloomy all the time...~

22 A cheerful heart is good medicine,

22 A rejoicing heart doth good to the body, And a smitten spirit drieth the bone.
